New Arrangement: RAYE’s "Where Is My Husband?"
I’ve just added a new arrangement of RAYE’s "Where Is My Husband?" to the catalogue. It’s been hard to avoid this track lately given its chart success, and the "hot brass" and big band energy of the original made it an obvious candidate for an arrangement.
I primarily put this together with public performances in mind. When you’re playing out in community spaces, parks, fetes, or busy town centres, it helps to have something in the folder that people recognize instantly. This track has that sass and drive that carries well outdoors and usually gets a good reaction from a passing crowd.
While the original is quite frenzied, I’ve kept this arrangement at a Grade 3 level. I wanted my youth brass band to be able to enjoy it, but I’ve made sure it doesn't lose that signature punch.
The percussion is written for drum set, or three individual percussionists in a new orleans second line band style.
It’s a straightforward, high-energy addition to a contemporary set that works for both youth sections and senior bands looking for a quick-to-prepare pop fix.
