Music from Scheherazade
After recently performing Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade with the Opera Australia Orchestra, I was struck by the sheer beauty and intimacy of the third movement, The Young Prince and the Young Princess. The lyrical elegance, gentle dance rhythms, and vivid storytelling inspired me to reimagine this magical movement for brass band.
I’m thrilled to share my new brass band arrangement of this enchanting piece—a lush, romantic interlude that offers players and audiences alike a chance to bask in the colourful world of the Arabian Nights. This adaptation stays faithful to Rimsky-Korsakov’s original textures while showcasing the warm, expressive capabilities of the brass band.
